दिल्ली गौशाला में आपका स्वागत है

दक्षिण - पश्चिम दिल्ली के इस प्राचीन कस्बे नजफगढ़ में नजफगढ़ (दिल्ली) गौशाला की स्थापना 129 वर्ष पूर्व की गई थी | इस प्रकार संभवत यह गैशाला पुरे राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र (NCT), दिल्ली की सबसे पुरानी गौशाला है | प्रारंभ में इस गौशाला को चलाने के लिए तथा रखरखाव बनाए रखने में नजफगढ़ कस्बे के वैश्य समुदाय के लोगों का योगदान मुख्य रहा क्योंकि उन दिनों में इस समाज के लोग व्यापार से जुड़े होने के कारण अपेक्षाकृत आर्थिक रूप से अधिक संपन्न थे | इसी समाज के एक  लाला कस्तुरी लाल पूर्व में गौशाला की प्रबंधन  समिति के अध्यक्ष अनेक वर्षों तक बने रहे तथा उन्होंने कुछ एकड़ जमीन गौशाला को दान दी थी |

कालांतर में वर्ष 1956 में गौशाला समिति को "दी पिंजरापोल सोसायटी (रजिस्टर) गौशाला नजफगढ़" के नाम से पंजीकृत किया गया था | अनेक वर्षों तक मुख्य नजफगढ़ में दिल्ली गेट के साथ, सर्किल रोड पर ब्रांच रही जो की आजकल गौशाला नंबर 1 है | चूँकि वर्षों गायों, बछड़ों और सांडो की संख्या निरंतर बदती रही इसीलिए इनको गर्मी-सर्दी में रहने के लिए उचित स्थान, भवन आदि उपलब्ध करने तथा उचित रख रखाव करने के लिए नजफगढ़-नांगलोई रोड पर क्रमशः गौशाला नंबर 2 और गौशाला नंबर 3 का निर्माण कराया गया था | अब इन तीन गौशालाओ में लगभग आठ हजार पांच सौ गायें, बछड़े और सांड, है जिनमें कुछ बीमार तथा अपाहिज भी है | इन सब के लिए गर्मी-सर्दी से बचाव, चारे-पानी तथा उचित रख-रखाव की व्यवस्था गौशाला प्रबंधक कमेटी द्वारा कराई जाती है |

Gaushala Najafgarh (Delhi) was established 129 years ago in this ancient town of South-West Delhi. This Gaushala is the oldest Gaushala of the whole NCT of Delhi. Initially the major contribution to run and maintain this Gaushala was made by the people of Vaishya Community of Najafgarh, being the only prosper Community at that time. One Lala Kashturi Lal remained the President of the managing committee of the Gaushala for years together and had also donated acres of agricultural land to the Gaushala.

Subsequently in 1956 the Gaushala committee was got registered as a society in the name of "The Pinjrapole Society (Regd) Gaushala Najafgarh". For several years there remained a single branch of this Gaushala in the main Najafgarh town on the circle road near Delhi Gate, which now is Gaushala No. 1. As over the past several years the number of cows, calves and bulls has been increasing considerably, in order to accommodate and provide proper facilities to them, two more big branches of this Gaushala were established on Najafgarh- Nangloi road as Gaoushala No. 2 and Gaushala No. 3. Now, in these three Gaushala there are about Eight Thousand Five Hundred cows, calves and bulls, which are being properly fed and provided shelter. There are some handicapped and blind cows also in these Gaushalas which are being fed and kept properly.
